One and Done

Well. It's in the books and unless you have been living in the sewers with the rats in New York, you are aware the 2013 World Series Champions are the Boston Red Sox. On a side note, when it comes to the infamous NY sewer rat, it has been reported by a creditable new source, Seth Myers from Weekend Update on SNL the rat population is being eliminated. Problem is no one knows why. I know why. They all "Shipped up to Boston." DKM should appreciate that play on words. If you don't get DKM or "Shipping up to Boston", it's ok, I'm just going to put my hand in front of this brick wall and I bet you I can take your hardest punch on my palm.... Anyway back to the topic at hand. One and done. Those who know me know that I am a DIE HAWD SAWK FAN, but even I am not so blinded by the "Dirty Water" to see what is going to happen this offseason. The team of bearded freaks you saw this year will not be the team you see next year. The front office will never let that happen. These dudes just won The Ring and unless they are still under contract, they are going to want more money. Money the Sox are not willing to pay for a one year deal and unless your name is Ortiz, Pedroia, Victorino or Ross, you wont get more that a one year deal. I believe the only one that has a shot is Napoli. They were ready to sign him to three this spring but backed out due to hip issues.  Uhhhh. What hip issues.  I saw him rotate that hip right out of the ball park. Several times. I think he will get a multi year deal. As far as every other free agent.. nice knowing ya. We wish you well and I hope that everyone finds a great team and a great group of guys to play ball with. I just don't see any very lucrative offers being offered at all. If you still want to play ball for love of the game then you've found your home. Expect for the Bobby "won't you be someone else's" Valentine era, this club meshed very very well.  I mean com'on! who doesn't like chicken and beer? Once again, hand, wall, whoops! That twice. You must be a Yankee fan. So I say to Red Sox Nation. It's going to be great getting to know a few extra guys next year. Nuff Said!  617 STRONG!!!!
