Dec 8, 2011- Early am- LA Angels- "Hahaha. Suck it MLB"
What the H. E. double hockey sticks happened? I'll tell ya. The Angels, as of right now, Dec 8 2011 1:19 pm CST, just put a huge bid in to win the A.L. As a die hard Red Sox fan, this scares me. A LOT! The King just pulled a 10 year deal for $250M with a no trade clause! Then, one of the best left handed pitchers in baseball, C.J. Wilson got $75M for 5 years. Uh-oh. The Angels, who weren't a slouch to begin with, just jumped to the top. Miami was reported to have made an offer for 10 years at $275M but did not offer a no trade provision to Albert. Hmmm. $275M huh. That's a lot of scratch for a sub par team. What does this mean for the rest of the free agents out there? Well, a few teams were primed and ready to drop some serious cash on just these two players, so...there is a lot of money out there ripe for the pocketing. On the last day of winter meetings in Texas, I believe there is going to be some major moves. Teams that though things and agreements were in the bag might find things a little more complicated now. The move that the Angles made completely rocked everything out of focus. The part that worries me about Albert is, as good as he is, everyone has a self life. 10 years is a long time in professional sports period but in baseball, that's a freaking life time. 1,620 games! The biggest question now is, where is The Prince going? Miami says that they are NOT interested. Whatever. The Cubs? Theo is smart. I know. I'm not sure they have the payroll but who knows. All I know is that Miami deserves a bonus from someone. They worked the Winter Meetings like a fiddle. Albert and C.J. both owe their new contracts to Miami for driving the money sky high. Your Welcome.
